Czech Republic

The Czech Republic has a cumpulsory health insurance with a free choice of the respective insurance company. All nine insurance companies take the legally required rate of 13.5 per cent of the gross income (no contribution assessment ceiling).

Of these 13.5 per cent the employer pays two thirds (9 per cent). For an additional sick pay insurance another 4.4 per cent of the income have to be paid of which the employer pays three quarters. The state takes over the contributions for people with no own income.
